Week 31 July 30 - August 5

Day 1

The future glory of Israel - They will be blessed and they will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty one of Jacob.  The Lord will be your everlasting light and your glory.  I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God.  He has clothed me with garments of salvation, covered me with the robe of righteousness.

Day 2

The people have realized their sins and call out to God. O Lord, You are our Father.  We are like clay and You are the Potter; we are a work of Your hand.  The Lord was just waiting for His people to come back to Him.  Some will be forgiven but other will continue to want to stay in their sin.  The Lord will look on the one who is humble and contrite in spirit and who tremble at His word.

Day 3

Many men have walked each in the name of their own god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.  The Lord will cut off from them all idols and false gods.  They will be taken into captivity.  But He will keep His remnant safe.  He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.  But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.  the Lord will be a light to me.  The Lord does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in steadfast love.

Day 4

The people had been unfaithful, King of Assyria came against them.  Hezekiah knew that he had done wrong and this was punishment.   He gave all the silver and all of his treasure to King of Assyria.  He knew to call on the name of the Lord.  King of Assyria taunted them.  He said,"Who will save you?  You cut down all the poles and and removed high places.  There is no god to save you now!"  The kings men taunted and keep telling them that they would take people and help them.  But they were up to evil.  They didn't want Hezekiah's people to trust in him and in God but to go with them.

Day 5

The people would draw near to God with their mouths and honor Him with their lips but their hearts were far from Him.  Love God with your everything don't just say it but live it, pray it and trust in Him.  We aren't just seen as being a Christian by what we say but also by what we do and how we live everyday.
The Lords help is the only help that will bring true relief.  Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and exalts Himself to show mercy to you.  For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are those who wait for Him.

Day 6

The at ease and complacent women were warned of disaster.  O Lord, be gracious to us; we wait for You.  Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.
When Hezekiah heard the words of taunt from King of Assyria's men he tore his clothes and went into the house of the Lord.  I love to hear how Hezekiah dealt with difficult time.  He went straight to the Lord.

Day 7

The enemies continued to tell the people that they would not get help from Hezekiah's God.  They stayed silent and waited on their own king.   The people knew that they couldn't do anything in their own strength, they had to call out to God for Him to hear and help them.  Hezekiah took the letter from the enemy and he spread it out before God and prayed.  When we are going through trouble don't look to others or "things" to help you through it.  Spread it out before the Lord our God and allow Him to help you.  He is able and so very willing.  Just waiting for us to ask.  But if we have gone astray we need to repent and humbly come before Him.  Hezekiah shows us how we need to do these things.  He prayed that the Lord would save them so that all  would know that You, O Lord, are God alone.

Happy Reading - Jeannie
