Week 51

Day 1
Jesus is our great high priest who knows what we go through. God appointed Him and lifted Him to this position. Grow up and mature in the things of God. Be imitators of those, through faith and patience inherit the promises of God. It is impossible for God to lie, we can trust in His promises. Jesus is a guarantor of a better covenant.

Day 2
God puts the law in the minds of His people and will write it onto their hearts. He will be our God and we shall be His people. He will be merciful towards our iniquities and will remember our sins no more. When Christ came He allowed us to come to Him freely. He paid the price for our sin. His sacrifice was once for all. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith for we are cleansed now. Hold fast to our confession of our hope without wavering for He who has promised is faithful. Stir up others to good works, encouraging and meeting together. Do not go on sinning in living like you used to. Jesus is our confidence. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, and not seen. Without faith it is impossible to be pleasing to Him. Set aside sin as run the race before us, looking to Jesus the founder and perfector of our faith. The Lord disciplines those He loves like a good Father. Discipline will benefit us and will help us to be better.
Marriage should be held in honor.  Keep your life free from the love of money and be content with what you have. The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me? Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Continually offer at the sacrifice of praise to Him.

Day 3
Our aim is to love with a pure heart, good conscience and a sincere faith. Jesus gives us strength, He came into the world to save sinners and He has perfect patiences. For God desires for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth. There is one God and one Mediator between God and man which is Christ Jesus. Notes to women – they shall have respectable apparel, modestness, self-control and not flashy. We should learn to live quietly with also submissiveness. Also not having authority over man in teaching. God has a perfect order.
An overseers qualifications – above reproach, husband of one wife, sober minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his house well and not a recent convert and well liked by outsiders. Paul wrote these things to Timothy so that the people would know how to behave in the household of God. Train yourself for godliness. We have our hope set on the living God. Be Christlike and practice the things of Christ. Don't rebuke but encourage. Take care of those in your family and pay your preachers. Watch out for those who do not teach the truth because some desire money and esteem. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness and be free from reproach.

Day 4
Qualifications for elders – is the same as overseers but added some more things. Children must be believers, not arrogant or quick-tempered, not drunkard, violent, greedy for gain, must be hospitable,  lovers of good, upright, holy, and disciplined. We need to be good examples to others. The grace of God appeared bringing salvation to all people. We are being trained to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, live a self-controlled, upright and godly life.

Day 5
Jesus has caused us to be born again and we now have an inheritance in heaven that is guarded. Rejoice even though we may have trials because we can look to what is to come. Do not be conformed to former passions, be holy in all conduct. We were ransom by the precious blood of Jesus. Love others earnestly with a pure heart. The word of the Lord remains forever. Put away malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander. For I am chosen and precious. Abstain from all fleshly passions and submit to authority. Wives be subject to husbands and let your adorning not be external but from the inside out. The beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit is precious to God. Husbands live with wives and honor them as the weaker vessel understanding them. Always be ready to make a defense to anyone who asks for a reason for the hope that is in you. Do this with gentleness and respect. We may suffer but better to suffer from doing good. We are an example of Christ and he suffered in the flesh. Arm yourself with the same way of thinking. Above all keep loving each other earnestly because the sincere love covers a multitude of sins. Entrust your soul to our faithful Creator while doing good. Clothe  yourself with humility and Christ will exalt you. Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. Resist the devil and stay firm in your faith.

Day 6
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. He has granted to us His precious and very great promises. Through these promises we have become partakers of the divine nature. If you want to be effective and fruitful - supplement your faith with virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection and love. Practice these things and you will not fall. False teachers will come in, looking to destroy. The ungodly will be condemned to extinction. For whatever overcomes the person, to that he is enslaved. The Lord isn't slow, but is patient towards us. He wishes that none should perish but reach repentance. Be diligent to be found by Him without spot or blemish and at peace. Content for the faith. The ungodly people will pervert the grace of God and denied Jesus. Build yourself up in the most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.

Day 7
Fan into flame the gift of God given to us. God gave a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord Jesus for He abolished death and brought life. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. Be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Do your best present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. Flee youthful youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the name of the Lord from a pure heart. In the last days there will be much ungodliness – lovers of self and money, pride, arrogance, abuse, disobedient to parents, ungratefulness, unholiness, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not living good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, appearance of godliness - but denying its power. Avoid such people. You can see that we must be close to the end days as many of these above ways listed are the ways of men today. All Scripture is God breathed and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness. Preach the word of God and be ready always. Fight the good fight and finish the race, keep the faith.

Week 50 December 10-16

Day 1
Whenever Paul taught he did not hold back the things of Jesus. He didn't count his life is value but he just wanted to finish his course of ministry. Beware of those who will twist things and bring confusion. You're more blessed to give than to receive. Paul gave the Gospel freely without hindrance. Paul always wanted to do the will of the Lord. Paul spoke to the people in Jerusalem and told them his testimony. People got mad and shouted at him and we're about to flog him. Paul said that he always lived his life for God with a good conscience. We should also always be ready to give our testimony.  It may make people mad but like Paul we shouldn't count our life as value but what we do for Jesus is most valuable.

Day 2
The Jews began fasting until Paul was killed. They set up an ambush to kill him. Paul said believe and hope in God that is what I do. Paul stays in prison under Felix for two years then Paul goes and appeals to Caesar. There was no proof of what the men had accused him of.

Day 3
Paul made his defense to King Agrippa. He was on trial because of his hope in Jesus. Again he gave them his testimony. The king had said that Paul did not deserve death. Paul is off to set sail to be seen by Cesar. The ship is struggling in bad weather Paul told them not to sail but none listened. The ship is finally wrecked and people thought that Paul was a god because he healed many on the island. He just continued to tell them about Jesus and how they needed salvation through Christ.

Day 4
Paul begins to write letters to Philemon and the Colossians. Paul prays for them and asks the Lord to strengthen them with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy. By Jesus all things are created and by Him all things are held together. Dont listen to falseness,we once were dead but now we are alive in Him . Set your minds on the things that are above with Christ.  Put aside earthly things, you once walked in them, but no more. Put on compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, patience bearing with one another and forgiving. Put on love which binds everything together in perfect harmony.. Submit to your husbands and husbands love your wives. Children obey your parents for God has perfect order. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.

Day 5

We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places; we are adopted by Him as sons. He lavishes his grace on us and we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. We were dead in our sins, but God rich in mercy, loving us so much saved us by His grace. We were separated from Christ but now we are near Him and He is our peace. Paul prayed for the Ephesians to know the amazing love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that they would be filled with all the fullness of God. He can do more abundantly then all we can ask or think. Walk in a manner worthy to which you have been called. Do this with all humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another in love and eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Don't walk like you used to. Put off your old self. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Be angry and do not sin; don’t let the sun go down on your anger and give no opportunity to the devil. Be imitators of God and walk in love. Have nothing to do with the unfruitful works of darkness but rather expose them. Be strong in the Lord and the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor so you can stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

Day 6
He who began a good working you will bring it to completion on the day of Jesus Christ. May your love abound more and more. Paul was imprisoned but he said it was for God's glory. He rejoiced in all circumstances. Count others more significant than yourselves. Christ did this for us. Jesus’ name is above every other name. Every tongue will confess and every knee will bow that Jesus Christ is Lord. Do all things without grumbling or disputing that you may be blameless and innocent in this twisted generation. Press on towards Christ and don't look behind but look to the goal in Christ. Look to those who walk up rightly and follow their example. Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication let your request be known to God. The peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and our minds. Dwell on truth, honor, what is right, what is pure, what is lovely, and of good repute. Also dwell on anything that is excellent or anything worthy of praise. God will supply all your needs according to the riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Day 7
God speaks to us through Christ and He is the radiance of the glory of God He is supreme. Jesus tasted death for all of us. He is a merciful and faithful High Priest. Be careful that we do not fall away from the things of God. We can enter into the rest of our Jesus. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of  joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Week 49 December 3-9

Day 1
We have an eternal heavenly dwelling and we have the spirit as a guarantee. We walk by faith not by sight. Make it your aim to please God. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has passed away and the new has come. For our sake God made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
Godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. Give generously. Sow sparingly and you will reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Give as you have decided in your heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. God makes grace abound to you, and having sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. God will always supply your needs. Overflow with thanksgiving to God.

Day 2
Take every thought captive to obey Christ. Paul defends his ministry. He doesn't just write how to live but he lives his life as an example. He warns them about the false apostles and speaks of his hard sufferings to show his weakness. Paul had a thorn in the flesh that kept him humble and God tells us that his grace is sufficient for us, for his power is made perfect in weakness. For when I am weak, then I am strong in Christ.
Paul was concerned that the church was not behaving properly. He told them to repent and turn from sin. Examine and test yourselves. He prayed for their restoration. He told them to comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Day 3
Paul continues to travel to Greece and back to Macedonia. Paul speaks about his testimony and what he went through and how he began to know Jesus. The people there were being confused by the Judaizers and felt like they needed to be back under the law. We aren't justified by works of the law but by faith in Christ. The people there were being confused by the Judaizers and felt like they needed to be back under the law. If we want to live by the law we must abide by the entire law which is impossible for us. The law was given to show our sin. It showed us how much we need a savior. To go back under the law says that what Christ did on the cross wasn't needed or wasn't sufficient. Christ set us free so stand firm and don't submit again to slavery. Walk by the Spirit not by the flesh. The fruits of the Spirit our love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Don't grow weary in doing good.

Day 4
Paul longed to see and encourage and be encouraged by the Romans. He wasn't ashamed of the Gospel. The wrath of God is against all ungodliness and unrighteousness. God gave them who were ungodly and unrighteous in the lust of their hearts to impurity. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie. God gave them to dishonorable  passions – homosexuality. They did not see fit to acknowledge God. God's kindness is meant to lead us to repentance for God is always faithful. Through the love comes knowledge of sin and through faith we can believe and be righteous. We have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We are justified by faith. We are blessed because we are forgiven and our sins are covered. The Lord does not count our sins against us.

Day 5
We had access by faith into Grace and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Be dead to sin and alive to God. Our old self is crucified and we can set free from sin. Sin has no dominion over us. The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, he has set us free. We live according to the spirit. Set your mind on the things of the Spirit.

Day 6
The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing  with the glory that is to be revealed to us. All things work together for those who are called according to his purpose. God is for us who can be against us? Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ! If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved.  How beautiful are the feet of him who brings good news. We are grafted into the family of Christ. God is a just God who has kindness and sovereignty. From Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to Him be the glory forever. Present your bodies as living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. God gives us gifts, use them to glorify God and let your love be genuine. Abhor  what is evil, hold fast to what is good. Outdo one another and showing honor. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be consistent in prayer and live in harmony and peaceably with all.

Day 7
Be subject to the governing authorities as God has appointed them. We don't owe others except to love each other, love fulfills the law.  Welcome the weak in faith and encourage them, and not judge. Every knee will bow, every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Never cause another brother to stumble. We who are strong have an obligation to the weak and not  to please ourselves.  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Paul always gives glory of his ministry to Christ not himself. Be wise to what is good and innocent to what is evil.

Week 48 November 26 - December 2

Day 1
Paul and Silas take Timothy with them preaching. The churches are strengthened and are increasing. The Lord guides them where they should go and not go. Paul and Silas are put in jail. They prayed and praised God while in chains. The doors opened in the prison and the jailer was about to kill himself because the prisoners would be freed.  Paul told him not to. The jailer wanted to know how to be saved. Paul told him to believe in the Lord Jesus and he would be saved.
The Breanans  received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if it was true.  We need to be like the Breanans and also examine and study the scriptures daily.

Day 2
The Thessalonians became imitators of Paul, Sylvania's and Timothy after receiving the gospel. They turned from idols to God and the word spread from them.  Paul was approved by God and entrusted with the gospel to bring it to many, not to please men but to please God. Paul was thankful to hear that the Thessalonians continue to stand firm in their faith. He told them to continue to walk, pleasing God more and more. Told them to continue to have love for their brothers, and aspire to live quietly, mind your own affairs and work with your hands.  Do these things so that you will walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
We will be caught up together to meet the Lord and will always be with Him. We should encourage each other with these words. Be ready for Jesus to come for us. Be at peace among yourselves, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak and be patient with them all. Don't repay evil for evil. Seek to do good to one another. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God.
Day 3
The Lord will come against those who come against his people. Those who do not know the Lord will suffer punishment of eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord.  I pray that God would make me worthy of His calling and may fulfill every resolve for good work of faith by His power that He is glorified in me and me in Him. Stand firm and hold on to what you have been taught. The Lord will guard you against the evil one. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. Stay away from any brother who is walking in idleness. Work quietly and earn your own living. Do not grow weary in doing good.

Day 4

Paul prays for the Corinthians to not have divisions among themselves but to be united and of the same mind and judgment.  Christ is not divided. The word of the cross is folly to those perishing but power to those who are being saved. Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.  We have wisdom from God, "What no eyes have seen, no ears heard, nor the heart of man can imagine, what God has prepared for those who love Him".

Day 5

If you have disputes with your brothers do not take them before an unbelieving judge.
Those who will not receive the kingdom of heaven are the, sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, homosexual, thieves, greedy, drunkards, reviles, and swindlers. Such were some of you. But now we are washed, sanctified and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ by the Spirit of God.
All things are lawful but not all things are helpful. Do not be enslaved by anything for you were bought with a price.  Christ is our rock. No temptation will overtake you more than you can bear. Jesus will help. Don't just seek your own good but the good of your neighbor. Do all you do for the glory of God.

Day 6
Be imitators of Christ. The head of man is Christ, head of wife is man. God has a perfect plan for us. God is a God of order. There is one body with many members, one is not more important than the other. All members are important. If one suffers we all suffer, if one rejoices we rejoice with them. We must have love for others, without it you are nothing.
Love is patient and kind; does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, love never ends.  Pursue love.

Day 7
God is the Father of mercies. He comforts us in any affliction and we can then share this comfort with others.
We must rely on God and He will deliver. God establishes and anoints us and put His seal on us with the Holy Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. Don't be outwitted by satin. But thanks be to God who in Christ always leads us into triumphal procession and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere. We are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
Jesus is with us, so don't lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. Don't look to the things that are seen but those that are unseen, for they are eternal.

Week 47 November 19-25

Day 1
Jesus appeared to the disciples and they worshiped at His feet. He told them to tell their brothers and to go to Galilee and He will see them there. The Jews did not believe that Jesus had risen from the dead. The elders paid off the guards at the tomb to say that Jesus' body was stolen and the story spread among the Jews.
When Jesus was with them He said to them, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, even so I am sending you. Receive the Holy Spirit". Jesus told them the Great Commission -To make disciples and to teach them. He also said behold I am with you always. Proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation, tell of repentance and forgiveness of sins.

Day 2
Jesus told the apostles not to leave Jerusalem until they receive the promise of the Holy Spirit and power. They will be His witnesses to the remotest parts of the earth. And it shall be that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Peter tells others to repent and be baptized and receive the Holy Spirit. Be saved from this perverse generation. 3000 people were saved on that day and they continually devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship and breaking of bread and prayer. They were all of one mind and ate together with gladness and sincerity of heart praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord continued adding to their numbers day by day those who were being saved.

Day 3
The apostles continued preaching in the towns even after the high priest had told them not to. The apostle said we must obey God rather than men. They were beaten and told not to speak of Jesus but they continued to share the good news of Jesus.

Day 4
The Lord calls Saul, a man who hated Christians and was persecuting them. Saul was blinded and was brought before Ananias, he regained his site and proclaimed Jesus.
God shows no partiality. All should hear the gospel. It was in Antioch that the believers were there first called Christians.

Day 5
Count it all joy when you meet trials of various kinds. The testing of faith produces steadfastness. If you lack wisdom ask God with faith without doubting. Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial. Stand the test and you will receive the crown of life. Every good and perfect gift is from God. Be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Put away filthiness, rampant wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word which is able to save our souls. Be doers of the word.

Day 6
Don't treat some differently than others in church. Love your neighbors as yourself. Faith without works is dead so show your faith by your works. Teachers of the Word will incur a stricter judgment. Watch your tongues. Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. Wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering without hypocrisy. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. If you know the right thing to do and fail to do it then it is sin. Let your yes be yes and your no be no.

Day 7
The apostles spoke and many believed. But the disbelieving Jews stirred up the minds of the Gentiles and the people of the city were divided. The unbelievers will always try to cause confusion and division among those who believe.  We must always continue to pray and stand firm in Christ Jesus.

Week 46 November 12 - 18

Day 1
The Greeks were seeking Jesus. There is more than just seeing Him, we must entrust our spiritual well-being to Him. The hour is near that Jesus will be lifted up. Still after all of the signs and wonders they still did not believe. Their eyes were blind and their hearts were hard.  Some believed but would not confess it so that they would not be thrown out of the synagogue. They wanted glory from men rather than from God.  Signs of Jesus is coming -False prophets, wars, nations against nations, famine, earthquakes, tribulations, backsliding and lawlessness. But the one who endures to the end will be saved, be ready for the rapture. Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will not. Watch yourselves lest your heart be weighted down with the cares of this life. Be ready and stay awake.

Day 2
No one knows the exact day that Jesus will come back for us so be ready be faithful and wise.  Tell others about Jesus and spread God's word, multiply it. When we help those who are in need we are doing it for the Lord and will be blessed. Stay awake and pray that you will have strength to escape and stand ready for Jesus's is coming.
Judas makes plans to betray Jesus. Jesus shares the Passover meal with His disciples.

Day 3
Jesus washes the disciples feet.   A servant is not greater than his Master. The flock of sheep will be scattered. Jesus tells Peter that he will deny him three times. Jesus tells them that once he is gone the commandment is to love one another. The Lord's supper is shared - the bread represents His body and the wine represents His blood that was poured out for forgiveness of sins. He tells them to do this in remembrance of Me.

Day 4
Do not let your hearts be troubled, believe in God and Jesus. There is a place prepared for us and He will come and take us so that we will be with Him and He with us. Jesus is the Way, the truth and the life. No one goes to the Father except through Jesus. Jesus is in the Father and the Father in Him. Jesus will send a Helper which is the Holy Spirit and He will be with us, He is the Spirit of Truth. Jesus said peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. We are to bear fruit. Apart from Jesus we can do nothing. Jesus loves us as much as the Father has loved Him. Jesus laid down His life for us. We are not of this world and it will hate us. The Spirit of Truth will guide us in all truth. In this world we will have tribulation but take heart, I have overcome the world.

Day 5
Jesus is taken and the disciples flee Jesus told the high priest he has done nothing in secret and all he is done they know.  The people were speaking falsely against him and the beating begins. They were mocking him. Peter was following at a distance but denied him three times and the rooster crowed. Peter wept bitterly.

Day 6
Pilate was amazed at Jesus and found no guilt in Him. Jesus was then brought before Herod. Pilates wife even told him to not convict Jesus and that He is a righteous man. Pilate washed his hands of it and said that the blood is not on his hands but on theirs and  the people did not care. The people continue to shout, "Crucify Him". They clothed Him with royal clothes and said "Hail the King of the Jews" striking him on the head, spitting and mocking Him.

Day 7
Jesus is taken to Golgotha, the place of the skull. The people divided His clothes and they told Jesus to save himself. Jesus said Father forgive them for they not know what they do. One criminal asked Jesus to remember him. He realized that he was being killed for his deeds but Jesus was innocent. Jesus told him, today you will be with Me in Paradise. There was darkness for three hours and Jesus cried out to Father and yielded His body. The curtain in the temple was torn into from top to bottom.  The people watching this take place realized that He was the Son of God.  Jesus is placed in the tomb and they sealed the stone and put guards on duty because they remembered that He said that He would rise in three days. Jesus does indeed rise on the third day. When the women came to the tomb they saw the angel with an appearance like lightning and clothes white as snow. They had great fear and great joy and went quickly to tell the disciples. Jesus has risen He has conquered the grave!

Week 45 November 5 - 11

Day 1
Jesus was eating at the house of a Pharisee. He talked to the people about humility. Jesus should always come first in your life. The officials were mad because Jesus would eat with sinners. But he would leave 100 sheep and go after the one, and when He would find it He would celebrate and rejoice. There is great rejoicing for one sinner who will repent. We cannot serve God and money.

Day 2
We will be tempted to sin but woe to him from who the temptation comes from. Jesus said I Am the Resurrection and the Life, whoever believes in Me never dies. The Pharisees and Sadducees made plans to kill Jesus. Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews. Jesus healed the 10 lepers. But only one came back and thanked Him. In the last days people will be going about their lives not expecting, waiting or thinking of Jesus's return and many will be left behind. Always be praying and don't lose heart.

Day 3
The Pharisees would pray aloud so other men would hear them, they would exalt themselves. We are to be humble so that the Lord can exalt us.
The Lord told us that when two are married that the two become one flesh, what God has joined together let not man separate.
Jesus called the little children unto Him. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them. Receive the kingdom of heaven like a child.

Day 4
Jesus foretells of his death and resurrection. Jesus came not to be served but to serve and gave his life as a ransom for many. Jesus continues to go throughout the city's healing people. The good news about Him continues to grow.

Day 5
Jesus tells the disciples to go ahead of Him and get a donkey for Him to ride on in the city. People spread their cloaks and palm branches as He entered the city. The people shouted, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord". If the people weren't praising Jesus the very stones would have cried out. Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. When you pray forgive those who you have things against so your Father in heaven can forgive you.

Day 6
We must all repent to go to Jesus.

Day 7
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. Hear, O Israel; "The Lord our God, The Lord is One." Jesus speaks to the scribes and Pharisees. He said listen to what they teach but do not act as they do. They are hypocrites. Their outward appearance looks good but inside it is filthy. Beware of them.

Week 44. October 29 - November 4

Day 1
John the Baptist is beheaded.
People continue to follow Jesus so He withdrew in a boat. But the people that were following went on land and got to the town ahead of Him. Jesus came onshore and had compassion on the people. They were far away from any towns to get anything to eat. There were only five loaves of bread and two fish Jesus prayed over them and fed 5000 men plus women and children and there were 12 baskets of leftovers. All ate and were satisfied.  Jesus walked on water to catch up with disciples. Peter saw Him and said if it is you Lord have me walk to You. As long as Peters eyes were fixed on Jesus he stayed afloat.  But when he looked down he starting to sink. This should be a note to us to keep our eyes on Jesus and not at the downers in our lives.   Peter said truly you are the son of God.

Day 2
Crowds continuing to seek Jesus. Jesus tells them don't work for the food that perishes but for the food that endures to eternal life. Believe in Him who He has sent and you will have eternal life. Jesus is the bread of life, you will not hunger or thirst. People honor with their lips but their hearts are far from Him. The Pharisees and the Jews were seeking to kill Him.

Day 3
Jesus was healing many, the deaf were hearing and the mute were speaking. He told the people not to tell others but they told everyone that they could. Jesus fed the 4000 people with seven loaves of bread and a two small fish and  again was leftovers. Beware of the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees. The disciples believed that Jesus was the Christ the Son of the Living God. If anyone should come after Christ then he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Him.

Day 4
The Transfiguration. God said this is my Beloved Son, with Whom I Am well pleased; listen to Him. If you had the faith of a mustard seed you could move a mountain and nothing wouldn't be impossible for you. All things are possible for him who believes. Jesus tells the disciples that He will be delivered into the hands of men and will be killed but will rise on the third day. You must be converted and be like a child to enter the kingdom of heaven. Those who cause children to stumble would be better for them to have a millstone around their neck and drowned. Woe to the man who puts up stumbling blocks. The Lord would leave 99 to find one lost sheep. Be at peace with one another

Day 5
If your brother sins go and tell him one-on-one. If he doesn't listen bring others with you, still if he still doesn't listen then go before the church. Where two or three are gathered in My name I am among you. Forgive your brother 70×7 times and forgive fully from your heart. The cost to follow Christ meant that you left everything, no turning back, to follow him.

Day 6
Jesus said I am the light of the world I am not of this world. When you lift up the Son of Man you will know that I am He. I do nothing of my own authority but speak as the Father has taught Me. The Father is with Me and I always do the things that are pleasing to Him. Abide in My word, know the truth and it will set you free. If you practice in sin then you are a slave to it. Jesus is our Good Shepherd.

Day 7
Jesus sent out 72 men. He sent them out as lambs before the wolves. He told them to pray, heal the sick, and tell  that the kingdom of God has come near to them. Woe to the unrepentant cities. Blessed are those who have eyes that see. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened unto you. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Day 4

Be Christlike inside and out.  The scribes and Pharisees were just waiting to catch Jesus in something He might say to convict Him. We too will be watched closely but the unbelievers so that they can ridicule us and convict us of not being a good Christian.  Pray to be strong in your beliefs and that you will live a life worthy of Christs calling.  We all mess up but when you do, pray and repent and He will forgive.

Day 7

God desires compassion and not sacrifice   We may be working hard to gain the favor of Jesus but that is not His desire He would rather you sit at His feet and have that closeness with you rather than running around trying to gain favor.  Besides we can't "work" our way into His favor.  He loves us and He died for us.  The work is done.   Get to know Him personally and then the work you do for Him will bless others, but will always  be to His glory.

Week 39 September 24 - 30

Day 1

Hear my prayer and don't hide Your face from me in the day of my distress.
Answer me quickly when I call, Oh Lord.
This was in the first year of King Cyrus.  He made a decree to have the  house of the Lord rebuilt and for the people to be allowed to go and rebuild. Silver and gold and all things needed for the rebuilding was given to them.   The Lord forgave and covered sin, without wrath. Show us Your steadfast love, O Lord and grant us Your salvation..  Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him.

Day 2

Daniel was one of three high officials.  The others didn't like him and tried to catch him doing wrong.  They couldn't find anything because he was faithful.  The persuaded king to only allow people to pray only to the king.  Daniel didn't stop praying to the Lord and the men turned him in.  If you live your life for the Lord there will be people who don't like you and will just be waiting for you to mess up.  They may even set you up to bring you down.  Be strong in the things of the Lord and trust Him for all you need. Daniel never stopped from praying to the Lord and he was saved from the hungry jaws of the lions.

Day 3

Exiles were able to return to Jerusalem.

Day 4

The foundation of the temple was laid and the people praised God.
How lovely is His dwelling place, my soul longs to be with Him.. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house and sing Your praise.  One day in the Lords court is better than 1000's elsewhere.  The Lord is our sun and our shield. We are redeemed, give thanks to the Lord for His steadfast love.

Day 5

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abide forever.

Day 6

Satin will stand to accuse you but if you are the Lords He will rebuke him.  There will be a curse for those who steal, curse or swears falsely by My name.
Not by might, nor by  power, but by My spirit say the Lord.

Day 7

Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion, don't oppress widow or orphan, stranger or poor, don't devise evil against one another.  The people didn't listen so they were left desolate.  Lord is jealous for His people.  He will save His people and there will be peace.  Don't fear let your hands be strong.

Week 38 September 17-23

Day 1

Ezekiel is given the measurements of the temple.
The glory of God came from the east.  The sound was like many waters, the earth shone with His glory.  Ezekiel fell on his face and the spirit lifted him and brought him to inner court.  The glory of the Lord filled the temple.  Spirit spoke to Ezekiel and said this is where God will dwell, the people have done many iniquities and should be ashamed.

Day 2

The outer gate of the temple must remain shut and no one should enter it but the Lord.  Mark well all that you have seen and heard so that you can tell the Israelites.  This is so that they will turn back to the Lord.  The priests will need to teach the people the difference between holy and common, clean and unclean things.

Day 3

The name of the city from that time on shall be called, "The Lord is there"
A Lament for Egypt.

Day 4

Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that worried and scared him.  The dream had to do with his power, strength and how he would be cut off.  Daniel told him to break off your sins by practicing righteousness and show mercy to the oppressed.  Neb was a very proud man and he was humbled.  When his reason was restored he blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him.  All God's works are right and His ways are right and just.  Those who walk in pride He is able to humble.

Day 5

May God be gracious and bless us and make His face to shine upon us.  That His ways may be known on earth.  Let the people praise You, O God.  To the Lord I lift up my eyes.  The eyes of the servants look to the hand of their master, our eyes look to the Lord our God.  Have mercy upon us Lord.  I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, in His word I hope.

Day 6

After 70 years Babylon will be punished.  Then Israel and Judah will join together and seek the Lord. Our Redeemer is strong: the Lord of hosts is His name.

Day 7

King of Babylon, (Belshazzar), had a party and used the sacred vessels from the temple of the Lord to drink out of.  The hand wrote on the wall and they were fearful.  The heart of the king was proud and needed to be humbled.  God has numbered his days.  He was an unfair king and his kingdom would be divided.  The king was then killed the next day.

I am reminded many times though this reading that I too can become proud.  My heart needs to be humble before others and especially before my God.   Lord help us all to have a humbleness and give us Your grace and mercy. Amen.

Week 37 September 10 - 16

Day 1

The people left in Judah were told to live under the command of Nebuchadnezzar and they would be ok. But the leader was struck down.
The people needed to pray that God may show them the way that they should go and what they should do. But they needed to listen to what God said and not just do what they thought was best.  What God says to do will ALWAYS be better than what we think of on our own.

Day 2

The people didn't want to listen to Jeremiah and said he was lying.  The Lord continued to send his servants to tell the people what to do and what not to do but they would not listen.

Day 3

The people will fall by the sword their proud might will come to an end.

Day 4

Nebuchadnezzar made a golden image that all people were to fall down and worship.  Whoever did not worship this image was to be thrown in the fiery furnace.  When the three men wouldn't bow before the golden image  Neb was furious. He said, what god is there who will deliver you out of my hands? The men said we don't have to answer that but our God who we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace and will deliver us from your hand. Even if he doesn't we still won't serve other gods or worship this image.  These man stood up for righteousness even to the point of death. Their God would be with them no matter what. When Neb saw them in the fire and there was a fourth person that had the appearance of the son of the gods he called them out. He said blessed be the God of these men He has delivered them. He made a decree that no one was to speak anything offensive against their God. There is no other God who is able to deliver in this way.
How great are His signs and how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and His dominion it's from generation to generation.
The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live.

Day 5

Woe to the shepherds feeding themselves when they should be feeding the flock. The Lord will search for His sheep and seek them out. He will feed them and give them rest and blessings. You are the sheep of the Lord's pasture and He is your God.  The Lord will restore His people and  will give them a new heart and a new spirit and will remove the heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.

Day 6

The vision of the valley of the dry bones. The Lord will restore Israel. He will be their God and they will be his people. His dwelling place will be with them. God will show His greatness, holiness and make Himself known in the eyes of many nations.  They will know that He is The Lord.

Day 7

Ezekiel sees the vision of the new temple. He sees every little detail and sees the measurements.  Our God is into details.  He cares a out the details in your life as well, share them with Him and be encouraged in Him today.

Week 36 September 3 - 9

Day 1

Woe to the bloody city of Jerusalem.  It was full of sin.  There was no use to mourn and weep over those taken into captivity.  The Lord gave plenty of warnings.

Day 2

Prophecy against Egypt.  They were proud and exalted themselves.  They too would fall.

Day 3

God is the maker of all things, He makes them beautiful and strong.  But when they become prideful the Lord will break them.
Ah, Lord God! It is You who have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm!  Nothing is too hard for You.  He is great in counsel and mighty in deed.  He sees all and rewards each one according to his ways.

Day 4

The Lord says, Call to Me and I will answer and will tell you great and hidden things you have not known.   God will hide His face from those who do evil.
Give thanks to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good, for His steadfast love endures forever. The Lord is our righteousness.

Day 5

The Chaldeans came and took over and brought people to King Nebakanezer.  They burned the house of the Lord and took all the precious things.
Blessed is the man whom the Lord disciplines and who He teaches out of His law.  For the Lord will not forsake His people, He will not abandon His heritage, for justice will return to the righteous and all the upright in heart will follow it.  When the cares of my heart are many, Your consolations cheer my soul.

Day 6

The people then cried out to God asking Him not to cast them off forever.  Allow compassion to come quickly.  Help us Oh God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; delivers us and atone for our sins,  for Your name's sake.  We are the sheep of Your pasture, give thanks to the Lord forever.

Day 7

The Lord has brought forth destruction without mercy.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.  The Lord is my portion, therefore I will hope in Him. The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Even though the Lord destroyed the cities and allowed the people to be taken captivity He was always waiting for them to return to Him.  If they did He would be right there to receive them back. I am so very blessed to serve a God who loves me this much.  He is fair and righteous.

Week 35 August 24 - September 2

Ezekiel

Day 1

Ezekiel was one of the exiles in Babylon.  The Lord spoke to him and showed him visions.  He was to tell the people what the Lord showed him.  He saw a vision in the appearance of the Likeness of the glory of the Lord.  When he saw it he fell on his face.  Was told to not fear the people but tell them the words from the Lord.

Day 2

Ezekiel would prophecy and act out the prophecy for the people to see.  The people were about to go through terrible suffering and famine   He shaved his head which was very significant because priests didn't shave.  Then he took the hair and burned 1/3, cut 1/3 with the sword and scattered 1/3, which is what was going to happen to the people. The Lord was against them because of their abominations and they would be judged.  They would be an object of reproach.

Day 3

Told of the day of the wrath of the Lord.  Punishment is coming, and they will KNOW that He is the Lord. They each did what they wanted according to their own ways.  There would be terror, horror, feebleness  and shame.  Their riches wouldn't help them in any way. The Lord will put an end to the pride of the strong and take away the high places.  There was vile abominations and every vision Ezekiel saw had greater abominations than the one before.    There would be a mark on the forehead of the men who sighed and groaned over the abominations that were committed.   All those without the mark would be struck.

Day 4

He saw the wicked counselors and saw that they will fall by the sword and be judged.  His heart was broken over the people of Israel.  Of those the Lord scattered He will bring back and will give them a new heart and rid the land of detestable things.  God told them that His word would happen sooner than they thought and He won't delay.  The false prophets kept telling the people to not worry everything would be fine.

Day 5

The false prophets needed to repent and turn away from their idols and turn their faces from all their abominations.  They were telling the people things that God did not say.
God took in His people, nurtured them, loved them, clothed them but they trusted in their beauty and played the whore.  They forgot who helped them and loved them.  Their hearts were sick.

Day 6

Through all the things the Lord will do they will KNOW that He is Lord.   The people would die for their own sins and not the sins of fathers or sons.  Each one is individually responsible for their own sin.  If a person was wicked but turned away from sin they would be saved and live.  If they were righteous but went into wickedness they will not be remembered for their righteousness but will die.  Cast away all sin lest it be your ruin.
When God brought the people out of Egypt He told them to cast away the detestable things and do not defile yourselves with idols of Egypt.  But the people rebelled and weren't willing to listen.

Day 7

Ezekiel was told to groan with a breaking heart and bitter grief before their eyes.  When they ask why, tell them that every heart will melt, their hands will be feeble, their spirit will be faint and their knees will be weak as water.
God doesn't take anything lightly.  He doesn't ever want to destroy His people.  He has warned them again and again.  However His warning is over and He is now taking action.  Even up until the very last minute He gives them a change to repent and fall humbly before Him.  He is such a loving Father that wants us to return to him if we have turned away.  If we do it with a humble heart and turn from wickedness He will forgive.

Week 34 August 20-26

Day 1

Baruch read the words of Jeremiah to the officials.  They brought the words of the Lord to the king to be read but he didn't want to hear them.  God will spoil the pride of Judah.  They should have been clinging to the Lord instead they refused to listen.
You O Lord are in the midst of us, and we are called by Your name, do not leave us.
Jeremiah said Gods words became a joy to him and the Lord is a delight to his heart.  He said, For I am called by Your name, O Lord the God of hosts.  God will deliver His people from the hand of the wicked and redeem us from the grasp of the ruthless.

Day 2

The people didn't even feel like they did wrong. They didn't even want to acknowledge their sin.
O Lord, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in the day of trouble.  Cursed is the man who trusts in a man and makes flesh his strength,  whose heart turns away from the Lord. Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord.  The Lord searches the heart and tests the mind to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.  Heal me and save me Lord -  for Your my praise.

Day 3

People will fall by the sword and much death will occur, it will be horrifying   Lord will break them like pottery and it won't be able to be mended.
Jer. 48:10 Cursed is the man who does the work of the Lord with slackness or negligently.
Cling to the Lord; praise the Lord for He has delivered the life of the needy from the hand of evildoers.

Day 4

Don't trust in your treasures.  The only One we can trust in and always depend on is the Lord.  The people will be given into the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar.

Day 5

God continued to send messengers to the people to tell them to go with Nebuchadnezzar and be taken captive.  He told them to look to the Lord for their hope but they continued to be exceedingly unfaithful and following abominations of the nations. God had compassion on them but they didn't care to listen or acknowledge Him.
There were a lot of false profits telling the people that they shouldn't go into captivity.  They were lying to the people. Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture.  God knows His people and will fight for them.. The Lord is our righteousness.

Day 6

The Lord told the people to go with King Neb. and to live and multiply there.
Jer. 29:11-13  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to me and I will hear you.  You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart.

Day 7

The Lord loved them with an everlasting love;  He continued His faithfulness to them.. He will turn mourning into joy and He will comfort and give gladness for sorrow.
If you have been unfaithful to the Lord, He love you still with an everlasting love.  Come back to Him.  God love you and wants you back in His care.  He says, cling to me with your whole heart.  He is very willing to forgive and bring you back.
