Week 47 November 19-25

Day 1
Jesus appeared to the disciples and they worshiped at His feet. He told them to tell their brothers and to go to Galilee and He will see them there. The Jews did not believe that Jesus had risen from the dead. The elders paid off the guards at the tomb to say that Jesus' body was stolen and the story spread among the Jews.
When Jesus was with them He said to them, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, even so I am sending you. Receive the Holy Spirit". Jesus told them the Great Commission -To make disciples and to teach them. He also said behold I am with you always. Proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation, tell of repentance and forgiveness of sins.

Day 2
Jesus told the apostles not to leave Jerusalem until they receive the promise of the Holy Spirit and power. They will be His witnesses to the remotest parts of the earth. And it shall be that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Peter tells others to repent and be baptized and receive the Holy Spirit. Be saved from this perverse generation. 3000 people were saved on that day and they continually devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship and breaking of bread and prayer. They were all of one mind and ate together with gladness and sincerity of heart praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord continued adding to their numbers day by day those who were being saved.

Day 3
The apostles continued preaching in the towns even after the high priest had told them not to. The apostle said we must obey God rather than men. They were beaten and told not to speak of Jesus but they continued to share the good news of Jesus.

Day 4
The Lord calls Saul, a man who hated Christians and was persecuting them. Saul was blinded and was brought before Ananias, he regained his site and proclaimed Jesus.
God shows no partiality. All should hear the gospel. It was in Antioch that the believers were there first called Christians.

Day 5
Count it all joy when you meet trials of various kinds. The testing of faith produces steadfastness. If you lack wisdom ask God with faith without doubting. Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial. Stand the test and you will receive the crown of life. Every good and perfect gift is from God. Be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. Put away filthiness, rampant wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word which is able to save our souls. Be doers of the word.

Day 6
Don't treat some differently than others in church. Love your neighbors as yourself. Faith without works is dead so show your faith by your works. Teachers of the Word will incur a stricter judgment. Watch your tongues. Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. Wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering without hypocrisy. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. If you know the right thing to do and fail to do it then it is sin. Let your yes be yes and your no be no.

Day 7
The apostles spoke and many believed. But the disbelieving Jews stirred up the minds of the Gentiles and the people of the city were divided. The unbelievers will always try to cause confusion and division among those who believe.  We must always continue to pray and stand firm in Christ Jesus.

Happy reading - Jeannie
