Week 27 July 2 - 8

Day 1

Lord spoke to Hosea and told him to take a wife of whoredom and have children with her. The Lord will put an end to the kingdom of Israel and have no mercy on them.  They will not be considered His people. The Lord will have mercy and be theirs if they put away their idols.  He just wants us to love and worship Him.  He is a jealous God and He deserves to have ALL of our love and devotion. He is so worthy of it.

Day 2

Jonah runs the other way when God tells him to go to Ninevah and tell the people that they will perish because of their evil ways.  If God tells to you go, He will be with you and help you.  But how many times do we hear God telling us to go and we think of all the reasons why we shouldn't.  Fear, money, commitments.  God will take care of it all for us so that we can do His work.  We just have to be willing to go!

Day 3

Judgement on Judah because they have rejected the law of the Lord, lies have led them astray.

Day 4

Many times the people of Israel should have turned to the Lord for comfort and help but they never did.   Seek the Lord and live. Seek God Almighty, Your Heavenly Father, Maker of Heaven and Earth, The Ruler of Everything, and live. The people wanted to worship false gods.  So the Lord raised up nations against them.

Day 5

Amos cries out on behalf of the people and the Lord continues to be patient with them.

Day 6

Lord accuses Israel,  There is no faithfulness or steadfast love, no knowledge of God in the land, swearing, lying, murder, stealing  and committing of adultery.  People broke all bounds and bloodshed follows bloodshed.  This was approx  3000 years ago but it sounds like what is happening today.

Day 7

Isaiah saw a vision from the Lord.  The seraphim called to one another, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory."  The Lord asked, "Whom shall I send?" and Isaiah said,"Lord Send Me!" Lord help me to have a willing heart to say, "Send Me!"

God's children had rebelled against Him, they were a sinful nation.  Full of sin and corruption.  They had forsaken the Lord and despised Him.  Lord will restore the people if they will learn His ways and walk in His paths.  The haughtiness of man shall be humbled and lofty pride will be brought low, the Lord alone will be exalted.

Happy Reading - Jeannie
